The Traces of Akhism Culture in Bariş Manço
Akhism, which has started to develop in Anatolia since 13th Century, played an important role in the Turks to keep Anatolia and to dominate these lands. Akhism is basically a structure of trade structuring that prioritizes unity and solidarity by regulating the economic and social relations between tradesmen and artisans. In addition, it is also a system of morality, law and education which aims to create honest, hardworking, fair, generous and virtuous individuals in terms of Akhism. The social order, peace and prosperity have been tried to be based on by the help of Akhi Community. In the infrastructure of Akhi Community, which is idealized within the organization of Akhi, there is alp type from Turkish culture. In addition, rules and regulations about Turkish-Islamic guild and Akhi genealogy have also been the source of this type in terms of a wide description of the type of Akhi. From the beginning of the century until the present day, the characteristics of the Akhi type have frequently been handled in our literature and art from the beginning of the 13th Century until the present day. Barış Manço, who feeds on tradition and oral culture, aims to educate individuals, society and “whizz-kids” both morally and pedagogically by reaching them through his songs and TV programs. For this reason, it is possible to find the reflections of the basic principles and principles of Akhism in Barış Manço's songs and TV programs. These reflections are seen more clearly in the songs which are chanted by loading meaningful messages, especially for the individual and the society to achieve happiness and prosperity. Indeed, the ideal human model, which he drew through his songs, coincides with the characteristics of the Akhi type depicted in rules and regulations about futuwwatnamas and Akhi genealogy.
In this study, the traces of the culture of Akhism in the songs of Barış Manço was compared with the Akhi type depicted in the rules and regulations about futuwwatnamas and Akhi genealogy. In addition to this, the criticism of Barış Manço songs about contemporary people who drifted away from the philosophy of Akhism was evaluated.
