Love Adventures From Reality to Fiction in Sait Faik’s
Many women walk into Sait Faik's life. He mentions these affairs which he lives with them in his romance, time to time. These women are sometimes of foreign origin like Alexandra, Eleni; sometimes of Turkish origin like Mrs. Nevin and Mrs. Vedat. The common thread to all that is similarity of these women in that physiologically. All of them are brunette, long and has a thin profiling. He had a passionate love, an affair with ups and down with all of them. However, he cannot lead a happy life, lifelong love with anyone of them. He wants to marry with three women. The first marriage attempt is for Alexandra. His mother does not approve this marriage. After one of the breakings up of Sait Faik and Alexandra, he falls in love with a young lady who is medical student, Vedat Esin. In the second of these, his wedding proposal is taken a pass by Mrs. Vedat. He engages with a lady whose name is Lütfiye because of his mother's desire. This engagement experience which is going well in the beginning is take a short time. Nevin is one of the women who have a special place in Sait Faik's life. These letters which are Sait Faik wrote to Neval Seval who is supposed to be theater and cinema actress, later take a place in his book "Kargam Bağışla" which is composed by his letters. Short while ago to his death, he mentions to his friends that he falls in love again. This lady is Barbara whose niece of a foreign assistant professor who comes to Istanbul Technical University to give lectures. However, this love is also ends up in frustration. In this study, the theme of love in Sait Faik’s works was compared to his own life and aimed to look at these works from a biographical perspective.
