Two Inscripted Tombstones In Skopje Rifai Lodge Belonging To Seikh Sadettin Sirri Family: First Poetry Teacher Of Yahya Kemal Beyatli
Skopje Rifai Lodge has an important place in the life of Yahya Kemal Beyatli, who was born and raised in the city. Every detail in the lodge is important for literature history as the poet attends his Persian classes, writes his first poems, takes his first corrections for his poetics and, most crucially, knows about lodge culture. As part of the details about Seikh Sadeddin Sirri, of whom the poet talks very highly and took classes when he was younger, there are two notable tombstones present in the lodge garden. Two tombstones with sandukas (Islamic sarcophagus), which are the content of the study, has similar physical qualities in general. The tetra stich with its evocations on the tombstones that is believed to be written by Seikh Sadeddin Sirri is considered important for the culture and literature histories as he is the father of the two buried and poet of his time. Additionally, these tombstones provide us some information about Sadeddin Sirri’s family which had previous remained unknown.
