Reflection of A Plagiarism In 18th Century: Plagiarism of Vâsık From Bâkî
In the science world, plagiarism which means using an information without giving its source and represent it as of its own is used as the counterpart of the act of the artist trying to make his or her first owner forget with the attempt to change and convert the artist’s imagination, lyrics, fiction and composition partially or completely at various levels. Plagiarism emerges as an implementation that is seen every time. It is possible to come across plagiarism or its subordinate practises in work of poets and writers in divan literature. This study focuses on the characteristics of poetry of Vâsık who lived in the 18th century, in the context of plagiarism and relation to Bâkî’s poems. Searching for plagiarism in the texts of divan literature involves some difficulties. Being the fact that divan literature is nazire literature and the special terminology that emerges around the common theme of the tradition and the world of imagination, plagiarism (sirkat-i şi’r) requires a broader approach to plagiarism. Based on this necessity, Vâsık’s poems which may be quoted/stolen from Bâkî have been examined in different ways with the approach of the tradition of divan poetry, rhetoric and poets.
