Özet

MUHAMMED BADÁMYÁRÌ AND HIS HİKÁYÁT’S
In this study it will be focused on Muhammed BadÀmyÀrì who lived in seventeenth century, and his work HikÀyÀt, written in Azeri Turkic, is a work that should be attributed importance because there is not sufficient research on the period when it had been written and it has the Ottoman Turkish sound and structure characteristics. In the developmental process of Turkish, seventeenth century is a transition period when Ottoman Turkish begins that called Middle Ottoman Turkish. It is seen as the least investigated historical period. Researches on this period generally consist of studies on transcription of texts by foreign researchers due to the lack of Arabic letters in conveying sounds of Turkish. HikÀyÀt is noteworthy because it is a text written in Arabic letters reflecting the characteristics of seventeenth century Azerbaijani Turkish, and had not been investigated. In addition, this work is also notable because it reveals the differences between Ottoman Turkish and Azerbaijani Turkic. The purpose of this study is to specify the features of Muhammed BadÀmyÀrì and HikÀyÀt which is a single copy and there is limited accessible information about.
