RESEARCH LETTERS TO THE OTTOMAN PERIOD IN BOSNIA AND NAMİK KEMAL'S WORKS TRANSLATED İNTO BOSNİAN
In the Balkans is not possible to find a nation different than the Muslims of Bosna that like, understand and accept the Turkish Culture more than they do. At the time of Ottomans Bosnian children went to Istanbul where they study language, literature and various branches and carried them in their country. On the one hand they read Turkish literature and on the other hand they attempt to translate it in their own language. So the first Turkish literature like novel, story, theater and the kinds of poems submitted to the Bosnians. Namık Kemal undoubtedly is one of our writers that was mostly read in Bosna. As we know the book “Zavallı Çocuk” (Poor Children) of Namık Kemal in Turkey for the first time was printed in 1890. After a year (in 1891) this book was translated in Bosnian language with the name “Siroto Djete” by Hilmi Muhibic. The theater book called “Vatan Yahut Silistre” must draw too much attention also in Bosna as it did in Istanbul because it was translated many times in Bosnian language. The creation “Vatan Yahut Silistre” for the first time was translated by Ahmet Naim in 1916 and printed in “Mostar” magazine.
