The concept of immediacy expressed by causative constructions holds a significant position in Turkish and its dialects, particularly in describing actions that occur swiftly, suddenly, unexpectedly, or effortlessly. These structures enrich the dynamic fabric of the language by offering detailed representations of the action’s manner and duration, thereby enhancing narrative fluency and reinforcing emotional intensity. Especially in regional dialects, the diversity of causative forms has contributed to the development of distinct expressive styles. This article investigates the use of causative verbs in the Western Group Subgroup I dialects of Anatolian Turkish, focusing specifically on alternative constructions found in the Harmancık district of Bursa. While Standard Turkish employs the morpheme /-Iver-/ to mark immediacy, Western Anatolian dialects exhibit a wide range of phonological and morphological variations. In the first part of the study, examples from prior research on the dialects of Afyonkarahisar, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bilecik, Burdur, Bursa, Çanakkale, Denizli, Eskişehir, Isparta, İzmir, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Uşak, and Yalova are evaluated to illustrate the forms of causative expressions. The second part analyzes data collected from Harmancık, revealing a unique construction that relies exclusively on the suffix /-ım-/ to convey quick and sudden actions. Findings demonstrate that while Anatolian Turkish dialects show considerable regional diversity in expressing causativity, the Harmancık example presents a remarkable case of linguistic distinctiveness within Western Anatolia.
