Lexicology Pertaining to Religious Vocabulary In Turkmen Language
Turkish reveals its rich cultural accumulation with works which has been written for centuries. When the history of the Turkish language was investigated, especially, Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, Qutadgu Bilig, Atebetü'l-Hakayık and the first Qur'an translations conducted in the 11th century during Karakhanids period, have a special importance because of reflecting the rich cultural background, the cultural environment and daily life of the Turks at that time. Turkmen Language is remarkable with its language characteristics and vocabulary belonging to the Oghuz group which is a branch of the Turkish dialects emerged after the 15th century. In our study, the religions, beliefs and practices of worship will be revealed about Turkmen Language. By this way, efforts will be made to provide information about the Turkmen’s faith life.
