THE WORDS STATING TIME UNITS IN THE MODERN TURKISH WRITTEN LANGUAGE
Turkish language is a language which spoken by about 220 million people. It has the greatest number of speakers as a branch of Ural-Altaic language family. There are many people who speaks Turkish on the world. Turks especially live as crowded communities in Central Asia. Modern Turkish written languages used by these Turkish communities in Central Asia is similar to with each other. The reason of this similarity is that they have same history and also live on the same geographical area. There are common words in respect to the shape and meaning in the modern Turkish written language. The surveyed words are words which mean time units in this study. Our meaning for time units is words which indicate time and used for time intervals. For example; season names, month names, day names etc. In this study, the words which used for indicating time units in the modern Turkish written languages were surveyed aspect of both the shape and meaning. The similar sides and different aspects with Turkey Turkish of these words were determined. It was shown that the words similar to Turkey Turkish has not only similarity with Standart Turkey Turkish but also Tukey Turkish local languages. It is known that in the modern Turkish written language, some words show parallelism with Old Turkish. In this article, mentioned parallelism was evaluated also. As the words stating time units were compared to Turkey Turkish and Old Turkish, sound events also were explained.
