Künûzî And His Sehrengiz Of Kasa
The sehrengizs which cover a city’s beautifuls and beauties are among the authentic literal types of the classical Turkish literature in terms of their form and content. The most explicit features of the works which are accommodated in such type are that most of them are written in the mesnevi verse form and about the settlements within Ottoman geography for a certain period. The sehrengizs have an important place in terms of the literal aspect and the information that they have about the geographical, architectural and cultural history of the cities where they are written. The sehrengiz constitutes the axis of our study that it is for the city which was named as Kaşa by Ottoman people is named as Kosiçe connected to Slovakia today, and which was written in the first half of 17th century. The sehrengiz of Kaşa has the feature of being first and unique sehrengiz which has been known to be written about the settlement out of Ottoman geography. This work which was accommodated in the mesnevi verse form the by the poet in the penname of Künizi that there has not been any information about his life in the sources consists of 157 couplets. In this study, a number of evaluations were made on the form and content features of Kasa’s Sehrengiz and transcription of the work was presented.
