An Archetypal Symbolic Analysis from Salur Kazan’s Mythic Adventure to Modern Human Consciousness
Texts containing wealth of literary and aesthetic come into being precisely as the antithesis of all kinds of consumption events and efforts. Such texts make essential, inexhaustible, structural and existential realities in the world of individual and society. Dede Korkut Hikâyeleri, which have a high value with these qualities, maintain their wealth. This stories provide information of literature, social structure, folklore, history, lifestyle, ontic senses and epistemology of Turks. However, uncovering the legacy of the texts requires evaluating them with modern methods. This narratives of mythic time have a connection with modern human. Because the lives of people and societies and universal realities in this narratives coincide out of time. Joseph Campbell reveals a method of examination researching common aspects of folk narratives. According to this, adventures of mythical narrative heroes mainly consist of the stages of “separation - initiation - return”. The development of the story named “Salur Kazanuñ İvi Yağmalanduğı Boyı Beyan İder” in Dede Korkut Hikâyeleri follows a course that can be anatomize with this stages. In this study, where “KORA scheme” is used as the analysis method, Campbell’s determinations with an eclectic approach and the concepts of C. G. Jung’s archetypal symbolism theory are taken as basis.
