Although there is grammatical gender in the Turkish language, codes specific to the behaviors deemed appropriate by the society and reflecting its perspective on women and men are evident in the vocabulary. In Turkish, some words sometimes indicate gender grammatically and sometimes lexically and semantically. Some words are used only for women and some words are used only for men. The social dimension of the language is reflected in the vocabulary. Language is an area where gender indicators are directly evident. In addition to the physiological and psychological characteristics of the individual, social, cultural and economic characteristics are also clearly seen in the communication tool called language. Inferences about the social structure are obtained by looking at the vocabulary. Language-society interaction also includes language-gender interaction. Language and culture have the most important mutual effect on the formation of individual personalities in society. It is inevitable for the social subconscious to make its presence felt in the adjectives in the language. The presence of gender indicators in the vocabulary of the language with semantic connotations means that there are different situations in social and cultural life in terms of gender. The system of indicators in the language also directly reveals the understanding of gender. The vocabulary related to both women and men reveals the most striking features of the society's perspective and culture towards both genders. In this study, the adjectives used for men in the Current Turkish Dictionary and Kubbealtı Dictionary will be examined in particular. Thus, both the way the dictionaries handle such words from a lexicological perspective and the existence of men in the language and mind of the society will be addressed from a sociolinguistic perspective.
