A CRITICAL REVIEW OF TURKMEN LANGUAGE FALSE FRIENDS
False friends are defined as words in two dialects of a given language that look similar in spelling but differ in meaning. They are frequently observed within the frame of transfer actions among the dialects. Those transfer actions lead to various errors. There are many reasons for the usage of false friends, but it originally stems from the translator. In the scope of our work, such phenomena will be handled through the examples in Turkmen Language. Subsequently, the problem of using false friends will be highlighted and some solutions will be suggested.
