Linguistic Gap: Description, Classification and Examples
The concept “gap” is the research subject of many sciences. Some fields like physics, phylosophy, sociology, math, law and architecture have studied about gap and they have described it with their own perspective. The opinions about gap have changed in time. According to first studies there is no gap concept but existence of gap and his important functions have been emphasized in many studies later on.
At this study some information has given about gap in terms of different sciences, the concept linguistic gap, kinds of linguistic gap and methods of filling the gap benefiting studies about the topic. Gaps in Turkish have exemplified by scanning at the fields of relationship names, pet names and color names.
