Perception of Gypsy in Myths and Legends Appearance in Turkish Proverbs, Idioms and Phrases
Sharing a common historical, geographical climate, the society transfers cultural accumulations from generation to generation through vocabulary in order to preserve its existence. The fact that discourse is the structure that is passed on to future generations makes the vocabulary elements that include the opinions, beliefs, life philosophies of the individuals that make up the society important. Value judgments reaching today through national, spiritual filters; traditional elements built on national identity, consciousness; social facts, events manifest themselves in discourses that are the cultural heritage of the ancestors.
Individuals who produce discourse at the time of communication produce this discourse according to the thought patterns already present in the social structure. Answers to questions such as exactly what individuals say at the time of communication, what, how they include in their message, why they prefer such a discourse, can be reached through psychological, sociological, cultural analyzes that will reveal the mental structure of the society in which the discourse is created. In this study, the discourse on why and why the name Gypsy is mentioned in word entities will be analyzed analytically, it will be revealed that these discourses have a historical past and that they are common cultural heritage of the society.
