Oghuz’s Manner Agaınst The Death In The Dede Qorqut Epic
Dede Korkut Epic is agreed as the one of Turkish literatüre’s cult Works by virtue of transfering some basic codes related to Turkish culture to today’s world. It contain countless materials connected the life phases such as birth, death and marriage. Of those, the most striking ones are the custom of slaughtering the horse of died man and giving of the dead food. Of these customs, the some are also to wear black as mourning dress, the died’s relatives to tear his/her clothing and to pluck his/her hair and to cry aloud and to have a break the amusement for a time. The most of these survive until today.
