THE SOCIAL GENDER TENDENCY AND DOMINANT WOMAN IDENTITIES IN THE MODERN TURKISH DRAMA
This article is devoted to a research of Modern Turkish theater plays, in which gender plays an important role. Underresearche plays were written from the beginning of XX century till today. Such important Turkish playwriters like Orhan Asena, Ozen Yula, Turan Oflazoğlu present to the reader and looker prototypes of a strong female identity, like Kösem Sultan, Hürrem Sultan. Literary works examined in terms of gender issues began to play a significant role in Turkey and in Ukraine. The two countries with the power icon – Hürrem have this character in the literature and also in drama. As known in Europe, and in Asia at the beginning of the 20th century, there is a dramatic change of gender roles. Literature is the mirror of the community thats why examination of the characters in literary works gives the possibility to determine the changes that are emerging.
