POETICS REVIEW IN MESNEVİ
The term “Poetic” which is derived from Greek verb “poiein” and means “to make”, “to produce”, “to create” is accepted as “Art of poetry” in general sense and commonly as aesthetic evaluation and approaches towards a poet’s art of poetry and especially the way s/he shapes her/his own work. “Poetika” which was first used by Aristoteles in today’s form discuss theoretical aspect of all artistic activities. In this study it was anticipated for mesnevi poets to make a poetic interrogation based on their own ideas towards evaluation of lietarary value of mesnevi as “a literary genre” which is both a narrative work and long-winded poem. In this study, it was aim to determine meaning of mesnevi as a literary form attributed by two poets, Şeyhî and Tâcîzâde Câfer Çelebi, of XV century - an important period when classical literature is totally shaped and Turkish poetry began to find its own voice – through their mesnevi and determine two literary trends; poetic approaches about “being original” and “rewriting of an old story”.
