Abstract: In this study, the titles of Ahmet Mithat Efendi's three works on child and child education (Ana Babanın Evlat Üzerinde Hukuk ve Vezaifi, Peder Olmak Sanatı, Çocuk Melekât-ı Uzviye ve Ruhiyesi), as well as the definitions of the extent to which the ideas expressed in these works are reflected in the fictional works of the author, will be indicated.The qualitative analysis method was used in the study. The data were collected by document analysis. In this direction, the author's novels, stories and three theoretical works, the names of which we have mentioned above, have been examined. The data were presented based on the child's perspective, the child in the family, education during the modernization period, the process of starting school and learning, literacy and resources in child education.In Ahmet Mithat Efendi's novels and stories, children have stood out for their educational qualities. Regardless of their social position, children are healthy and intelligent. The perception of almost all children is clear.These children quickly understand a job, a topic, or a lesson. Some of these children have taken lessons at home, from family elders or private tutors. some children have been educated by going to school. A group of children were educated both at home and at school and completed this process according to the value judgments of society.The Ottoman society was experiencing a civilizational crisis between new and old with the Westernization process, Ahmet Mithat realized that the construction of this innovation would be through children at an early stage and often focused on children's education for this purpose.
